Adapta World Rally Team would be interested to run Petter Solberg in the 2009 WRC

Petter Solberg is welcome to join Mads Østberg's Norwegian Adapta World Rally Team following Subaru's withdrawal from the WRC, according to Norwegian news site VG NETT.
Adapta WRT manager Morten Østberg commented to VG NETT:
Sure we are interested, it would be almost stupid to say no. Petter is one of the major drivers."
Adapta and Petter must obtain the permission of Subaru. First off, he must want to do it, and secondly Petter receives between 45 and 50 million (Nkr) in salaries directly from Subaru in Japan. The Adapta World Rally Team can not buy him out from this contract, which lasts until the end of 2009.
Østberg stated:
To solve this we need Petter to reach agreement with Subaru in which he allowed to do jobs with other teams. But if he can and will, we will be very happy to have him here. "
Subaru's decision to skip the WRC circus has nothing to do with the Adapta World Rally Team's and Mads Østberg's commitment to the World Championship next year.
Østberg added:
We have the necessary reasurances from Prodrive that Subaru's exit from the WRC has no significance for our program. We will get the same - if not better - backing from Prodrive after this decision. "
