Below is rare video footage of the 1986 Rallye du Mont Blanc in which Didier Auriol (co-driven by Bernard Occelli) won driving the RED prepared, 33 Export sponsored, MG Metro 6R4.
Auriol completely dominated the French championship that year with the 6R4 and won no fewer than 5 rounds of the series in 1986. His main rivals in the championship that year were Francois Chatriot, who was piloting the Diac backed Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, and Yves Loubet who initially campaigned the Group A Rothmans Alfa Romeo GTV6 before switching to the Alfa 75 model.
After this season Auriol would go onto greater things in the world championship, taking the title in 1994 and becoming the first Frenchman to do so.
